Lots of good options mentioned below.

I work with a lot of families who have a lot of money but have some family members who struggle.

Many have a lot in common. I don’t know your specific situation (employment, etc) but there are a lot of common actions I see. Here are a few primary things to do:
-separate family funds from personal funds. This will require separate checking account for each spouse and the family fund.
- budget the family fund. Stick to it. Track it. Agree upon it with spouse.
- use your personal account as your spending allowance. Many, many couples get into marital or financial trouble because one overspends or is irresponsible while the other isn’t. This helps that situation.
- sell extra stuff. It will be liberating even if it requires selling cars, toys, etc to lower debt or raise funds.
- find ways to reduce monthly bills (cable, etc).
- save. 401k, ira, non retirement. Investment compounding is the 8th wonder of the world and having a rainy day fund will alleviate a lot of stress.
-I reiterate that knowing what you spend money on is a requirement. Every year try to cut 10% of your expenses. You add stuff every year so this is usually a good way to offset higher expenses.
- their may be resources in your community (non profits, churches) etc that offer counseling for families on financial matters. My brother does this for his church. Many banks offer programs in their online banking resources to help as well.

And lastly know you are not alone. We struggle with financial literacy as a society. Your willingness to address this is a great first step.
