I run tubeless on my mountain bike, road bike and touring/gravel bike

It's great, no flats. I've had two tire failures on my road bike in 2 years and 10k miles. Sidewall blowout, nothing you can do.

As for adding Stans, if you have had a flat and used a CO2 cartridge to reinflate, it's a good idea to take the tire off and check inside. Stans is not CO2 compliant and can freeze and crystalize. If you haven't had any problems, I'd add an ounce at 3 months and at 1 year, take the tire off and reinstall with fresh sealant.
