I have used both for extended periods.
Initially, I had problems with both but figured out my FIOS router was glitchy. Had Verizon install the most current router which cured all “my” problems. My service level is 100/100.
Since then I have determined that Hulu is a little more “glitchy” than YouTube TV but has a slightly sharper picture. YouTube is very stable, better interface, better DVR, more channels but a slightly “softer” picture. I don’t use either service for Video on Demand.
I am currently using YouTube TV. Switched back from Hulu last month.
Having said all that, while I had pretty frequent buffering issues before “upgrading” my router, I have not experienced the problems you describe. In your case, if it was me, I would just go with YouTube if you have no issues. If you have issues with both, get a new router.
