UNLV and Vandy don't really have a large fan base though

Plus, the NFL is banking on a large percentage of the attendees being visiting fans which is the same mindset the NHL had when it approved the Vegas Golden Knights' as a franchise.

Having a NFL franchise in Las Vegas will be a good thing for UNLV. Sam Boyd Stadium, which doesn't appear to be an on campus stadium, has a capacity of 35,000 and is used for other sporting events (i.e. HS regular season, HS state championship games, rugby, soccer). Whereas Allegiant Stadium, the Las Vegas Raiders' stadium, has a capacity of 65,000 (expandable to 72,000). It is worth noting that UNLV already has an agreement in place to use it as an alternate home stadium. I guess it is even possible that UNLV could make the move permanent.
