I would think the Big 12 is licking its chops right about now though

USC could be the first domino to fall that results in 6 "unhappy" Pac-12 schools (i.e. Cal, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Ariz, and Arizona State) and joining the Big 16 or Big 18 (assuming the Big XII can get 2 more schools to create an 8 team West Division).

It would most likely mean WVU is gone and need to be replaced to have an 8 team East Division. FWIW when the Big 12 was formed, it acquired the naming rights to Big 14, Big 16, and Big 18 which I believe the conference still owns today. The Big 12 would see this as sweet revenge for the Pac-10's attempt to lure Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, TAMU, Colorado, and Texas Tech away from the Big 12.

It would probably also be the end of the Pac-12 as a power conference. Even if the conference added 6 schools, it still may lose its automatic bid to the various NCAA tournaments because the conference doesn't have enough members who were members of the same conference for a specific period of time (the requirement is in the bylaws). The only reason I mention this clause is because that is what doomed the Great West Conference.
