I'm not worried about it. I've been working from home because...
...my daughter doesn't have school, but when I do go out for site visits, I always wear a mask. The suspected infected person apparently scoffed at mask usage and never wore one. Does a mask make me immune? Certainly not. But I'm being very careful, and my potential exposure would have been limited. My main frustration is because not knowing who the infected person is makes it difficult for our company to know who else to potentially be concerned about.
I am absolutely glad the economy is being allowed to open back up. All along I've been a proponent of allowing that to be a personal choice, not a governmental decision. I'd go to work every day in a heartbeat if I didn't have to stay home with my daughter. That doesn't mean I'd be cavalier about it - I'd continue wearing a mask, distancing myself from everyone, and washing my hands incessantly. But we have got to allow businesses the freedom to operate as they choose. It's not only constitutional, but it will help all of us stay employed. If you are a proponent of people staying at home and not going anywhere, I respect your opinion. However, as far as I'm concerned, it shouldn't be forced on anyone that doesn't want to do that. And I'd be willing to wager that the vast majority of people who are suggesting continued mass lockdowns are not hurting financially right now. Perspectives change when it's your own wallet that's going dry.
