Just found out someone I "may have" interacted with a handful of times...
...tested positive for COVID-19. However, this person's employer won't disclose the name of the infected person. They just called to say that one of their employees tested positive and that they can confirm that I likely interacted with this person (although not necessarily since he/she was infected). They cited HIPAA rules as the reason for not disclosing a name.
This seems weird to me, and I thought HIPAA only applied to healthcare providers. How are you supposed to "contract trace" if no one knows the identify of the infected person?
I seem to recall Photo's S.O. dealing with this in HR a while back...
