There’s nothing hypothetical about more people dying in a severe recession


Or depression.
Crime goes up some of which causes death. Suicides increase. Health care will drop drastically as more people get thrown off of their insurance or just don’t take care of themselves as well. They eat more unhealthy foods. Probably drink or resort to drugs more often to escape their pain. There is a greater increase of local skirmishes, battles, terrorism or even a global war.

Most of the above leads to real deaths of people of all ages & health situations not just seniors or people with weakened immune systems.
