It's probably too soon


If I had to draw comparisons, it would be October 2008 since the implied volatility index VIX and the actual volatility were both in the 80's and haven't pulled back. The volatility is setting up its first of several highs, implying that there will be bigger rallies and lower lows to follow.

You can look at stockcharts.com and plot the $SPX with the $VIX behind it as one of the overlaid indicators. I have long-term charts, but the free stockchart will give an idea of the volatility.
