Like everything, it depends on specifics; studies have been consistent

College degrees usually lead to greater career earnings. When I was a senior in high school, the store manager for my part time job (Zayre) offered me a full time job running a store department. If I had taken it, I would have made more money doing that than I did my first two years out of college 9and fortunately, college was relatively cheap in the 80s).

But over my now 35-year career? Not even close. I *wish* one my my two teens showed budding expertise at a trade skill. I would be thrilled to not have to pay for college, and have my son become a successful plumber. But that's not happening, so far.
