Real risk is if momma decides to move into your attic to nest


She will do a ton of damage. Other than that unless you have pets that come in contact with them or they are rabid you just have to worry about the mess.

If you have bird feeders they will empty them and make a huge mess.

Only way to get rid of them is to trap them and remove them (illegal in most places to relocate them so the best option is a trip to trashcan full of water) or hire a licensed removal company (who will be taking them for a swim, but you don't have to watch it).
