At first I thought my wife was overreacting a bit to raccoon poop we found


on our roof, but there is a CDC warning about this. Our vet said it may sound pretty silly, but it is indeed a problem. My suspicion is it probably varies by region. We are in eastern PA.

Back to the roof, if you are wondering. I did follow the CDC guidelines for cleaning. I was actually more pissed about the black hand prints he left on the pergola I spend 2 weeks pressure washing and painting. The opposing thumb was a dead giveaway.

I researched silent .22 pellet guns I could fire without getting my neighbors too crazy. My next door neighbor agreed with PFHokie. Not enough fire power. My goal was really just to scare him off versus finishing him off. I just wanted something that made a little noise as it whizzed by him. The little bugger must have gotten the memo; no more black hand prints on my beloved, high maintenance pergola, and no more poops on the roof.

At least I'm getting in some decent target practice.
