Honestly, I was surprised when the SWAC announced 10-15 years ago


that it was going to hold a CCG even though it was a violation of the bylaws. I understand the reasons why the SWAC opted to not participate in the NCAA DI-FCS Playoffs, but it was rather ballsy of them to openly defy the NCAA. I have wondered if the SWAC had not made that decision to hold a CCG, then would the Big XII have gotten the idea to tweak the bylaws so it could hold a CCG with only 10 members. Interestingly and oddly enough, the SWAC divides up its 10 members into 2 divisions of 5 even though it plays a round robin conference schedule.
