In VA, can not use a carmera to issue a speeding ticket without an officer.

Was proposed a few years ago to change the law to allow issuing a speeding ticket from camera data and the law did not get passed the committee in the General Assembly. A law enforcement officer must issue the ticket to the violator at the time of the speeding violation in VA. Law varies by state, so speed camera tickets are allowed in a few states. Red light violations are allowed to be enforced by cameras in VA.
