Probably factoring in 'social mobility' and other BS factors.

Social mobility is a metric that measure the school's ability to graduate Pell Grant awardees. That's 5% of the ranking system. That's very useful if you fall into that category, but it does not help you select a school if you are not.

High school guidance counselor opinions are weighted 5%. WTF? The guidance counselors get their data from USNWR. Basing your rankings on the opinions of people who couldn't find a better job than guidance counselor is just about the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

And then we have student excellence. Grades, SATs, etc. That's 10% of the formula. Yup, that's all. Social mobility is half as important as the intellectual horsepower of your student body. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

The University of Georgia is ranked above the University of Wisconsin, Minnesota, RPI, Penn State, Lehigh, Pitt, and a host of other really good schools. This is truly absurd.
