The best ranking systems are those that rank based on graduation...

salaries and mid-career salaries. USN&WR's rankings are biased toward liberal arts schools while Forbes and Money are biased towards technical schools.

How FSU moved up that many positions in such a short time shows the flaws in USN&WR's rankings formula. Maybe that's why FSU isn't that good in football anymore? ; Why has Pitt (a very good school) continued to drop while UConn (which IMHO isn't as good a school as Virginia Tech) continues to rise. That's the Northeast biased which has been around since they started opening American colleges. I also thought Tech would've moved up a spot or two since they now have a medical school? IMHO, USN&WR is a lazy attempt at ranking colleges. I would say that even if Tech were ranked #50 instead of #76.
