But is academics really independent though?


Academics seems to be a factor (at least publicly speaking) when the ACC, Big Ten, and Pac 10/12 were looking to expand and trying to decide which candidate(s) to accept or reject. It appears that L'ville and Nebraska may be anomalies in that academics wasn't the deciding factor in whether they got to join or not.
