got subsidized insurance for years, couple hundred bucks a year, which didn't come close to the payouts, yes, you the taxpayer was paying for that. Last few years the subsidies have been removed and owners are haveing to pay a realistic cost which was more like $10k a year (think, Greenbriar flooding last year)
So, I think that's the reality here. kinda thinking about Ocean City MD too which gets massive sand replenishment every year but I guess they figure the revenue is greater than that cost. But you can't fight mother nature, it will eventually win.
