Since in Virginia the athletic departments are restricted from state funding through the college, the schools help make up for it with the fees. I remember seeing graffics (probably from OXVT) that shows VT has one of the lowest student fees of any Virginia state school. Maybe in other states that aren't as restrictive schools don't have to do that.

Again, I'm just guessing but it would be nice if we could get that money from somewhere other than current students
