Practice is very important,but

it all starts with the "drive" a person possesses. My daughter did not start playing volleyball until the summer before her freshman year in high school. While she was a very good athlete, she never was driven in a sport until she fell in love with volleyball. During her freshman year, she told my wife and me that she was going to play college ball. We said "ok" without giving it serious consideration at that age. Over the next 4 years she lived and breathed volleyball playing high school and club. She would come home after practice and hit balls on the side of the house. Her senior year, her team played for and lost the Georgia state championship on a Friday night. Saturday morning, she got up early and drove a 1 1/2 hrs to participate in a volleyball clinic. She ended up being named the state POY,high school AA and had a very good college career in the ACC.

It all started with her drive. I have never seen a kid like that at her age.Her driven attitude has continued into adulthood where she has become successful in her career.
