I could totally see them doing what Harvard and Yale do and at least try to avoid the farce that is bigtime college athletics. My grad school, Emory U, intentionally did the same thing. They had/have PLENTY of money to get involved, but decided against it due to the corruption that is evident with D1 bball and fball.

It's why I'm in favor of the break away and paying players. EVERYONE is doin it, so less at least take the seediness out of it and put everything out there.

Oddly, Navy, Air Force, and Army have thus far found it reasonable to try to compete. They can SOMETIMES actually SOMEWHAT do so in a sport like football.
I would put it at 50/50 whether or not the brass wants to continue to be a part of this mess. BTW, Army, Navy, and Air Force players are already paid.
