the ACC would probably gladly take Vandy for free? The ACC may even be willing to trade for Vandy. Assuming the school(s) is/are on board with switching conferences, then the likely candidates may be NC State and/or VT.

If a trade were to happen, then I could see the SEC propose Vandy for NC State and/or VT. I don't think the ACC (in its right mind) would be willing to give up both schools for Vandy. I don't think the value of Vandy's funky basketball court is worth giving up a football powerhouse. However, by trading away 2 schools then it allows the ACC to maintain its current arrangement with Notre Dame and remaining at 14 football schools because UConn could fill the vacant spot.

Before anyone takes this post the wrong way, it is a TIC post. Except maybe the ACC willing to take Vandy for free. Although there is a possibility that the ACC could find itself in a similar situation as the Big East. The conflict may be between basketball vs. football and/or public vs. private. Depending on what direction college athletics goes in, it may become more difficult for the ACC to fulfill the needs of the different groups or at the very least find some sort of compromise that everyone can live with.
