Wrong on virtually every level.
Your response was so bad I intended to just give you a pass until you continued to spew half truth and unsubstantiated opinion in virtually every post. Since at least the early 1980's the ACC has not made more money than anybody else on the whole due to the conferences controlling their own football rights. When you couple that with sizeable stadium advantages the numbers were even larger. What is true is the ACC narrowed the gap with its lucrative basketball package but, they were still behind. The ACC, as a conference as a whole, was not the premier conference fifteen years ago and your vague memory of message board posts or even lamer response that you cannot actually prove it further exposes your lack of actual facts. You want to prove it to yourself you go to the IRS FORM 990's filed by the individual conferences those years or get a subscription to the Guidestar database maintained by the Indianapolis Star and both will show you do not have any argument. Revenue gaps have widened with networks, more stadium growth, etc. but, once again that is a top line argument and not necessarily a proof of financial viability.
VT may eventually lose coaches to other schools because they cannot pay but, your current reference to Texas A&M and Florida has NO MERIT. They wouldn't have matched, even if they wanted to and could the offers those coaches got and that is even before we talk about their actual performance at those subsequent stops. As far as the revenue gaps you completely ignore stadium sizes and the actual ability to fill those with a non alum fan base. VT is NEVER filling a 90K or 100K stadium like the Michigans, Michigan States, Alabamas, etc.
If you must persist in insinuating people are soft or wrong you should make sure of a couple of things. One, that you have the actual facts and knowledge to defend your argument. Second, that you can actually convey your points in an intelligent and reasonable manner. And finally, you should be man enough to admit when all you really have is an opinion, mildly, if at all. informed which you are unable to substantiate with real facts when challenged as opposed to claiming it is fact because you have a vague memory of a message board post which you probably did not even comprehend when you originally read it(You've already shown your inability to comprehend what you read on these boards in your misinterpretation of the Maryland articles previously provided to you)..
