On East coast, most refined products..,
Come through either Colonial or Plantation pipelines following I10, I20, I85 and I95. Doesn't matter which refinery refined the product. The real difference is the additive packages which are proprietary (mostly detergents). I've been running Marathon mid-grade for three years even though manufacturer recommends premium 93 Octane. Runs fine on it with no impact to mileage. In fact, all cars and trucks can run on 87 Octane because during refinery problems and shortages, the government requires that all gasoline powered cars and trucks be able to run on it. Modern engines can adapt with mileage being the only impacted performance factor. Tier 1 gasoline's have better additive packages, otherwise the product is the same.
