With the increase in pressure for the P5s to play more games against each

other, it may get tougher for the Playoff to have 1 or 2 undefeated teams and 3 or 2 1-loss teams. So most years the Playoff will be made up of some combination of 1-loss or 2-loss teams. In order for a conference to have any chance of getting 2 teams into the Playoff, then it will probably need to play out this way (or something similar).

1. 1 (maybe both) eventually division champions will need to lose (preferably a close loss) somewhere in Week 1-3.

2. Both eventual division champs will need to start out high enough (i.e. Top 10) in the Committee's first poll.

3. When the CCG is played then the teams will need to be ranked #1 and #3 or #4 (based on the Committee's Poll).

4. #3/4 will need to beat #1 by a close margin (i.e. 3 points or less) so it is difficult to drop #1 down to #5 (or lower).

5. Added bonus: #2 and maybe #4 either need to lose or not play that same weekend to ensure #1 is still ranked in the Top 4 after losing a close CCG.

I am not saying it will be easy for a conference to get 2 teams into Playoff or that it will even happen. However, if any conference will be the first to break through that barrier, then it will probably be the SEC. I say that because the SEC is the only P5 with teams of equal clout (as of right now) in both divisions.
