Assuming the ACC went North-South (with the line at the VA-NC border)
and schools were willing to sacrifice annual rivalries, then it would make schedule rotations very simple to establish.
North teams
Play 1 NC school every year and 1 team from Clemson/GT or FL school (flip flopping between the 2)
South teams
Rotate between the 4 natural pairings (VA school, Pitt/Navy, Syracuse/BC, or Notre Dame/L'ville)
By establishing something like this, then the ACC can balance out where schools play their cross-division games. It would eliminate the possibility of a team playing 2 schools from the same region or state and then have to wait 6 years before playing in that region or state again.
