Wrestling's governing bodies have been tinkering with the wrestling rules (4 pts for near fall; quicker stalling calls, etc.) to make the sport more active and exciting - in part to make it appeal to a broader audience and to avoid having it become marginalized to the point that more colleges drop programs or it loses its Olympic status. Adding more points for riding would seem to be heading in the wrong direction. Although there is lots of skill involved in riding, it's probably not exciting to watch for casual fans.
