is recruiting. In 2012, I e-mailed Scot Thomas about a OF prospect from southern VA who ended up playing for Arizona. I asked Scot if he had recruited her. He e-mailed me back and said that he had watched her play a few times but didn't want to offer her until after her sophomore season ended. He told me that he was very surprised that Arizona had offered her during her freshman year in high school. Most of the top softball programs were offering girls as early as 13 and 14 years of age. Scot has since changed his recruiting philosophy and is offering prospects as early as freshman year in high school. Cana Davis and Jordan Dail are great examples of talented prospects that committed very early to Tech. That recruiting period in the early 2010's when he waited until the sophomore season while others were offering much earlier might be the reason the talent level hasn't been as good as past seasons???

IMHO, I think the freshmen playing this season are very talented. I think the upper class isn't as talented as Scot's teams 4 or 5 years ago. I think he has fixed the problem.
