Couldn't agree more. When I grew up (1980's) you played for the local


Little League. No other game in town. Everybody did it. Now "Travel" teams are where it is at for the most part. Some Little League or Ripken League (Babe Ruth). Very Fragmented and unstructured as you said.

I've got a 4-year old. I had to research where to sign him up. Unfortunately as/if he progresses I'm going to have to play the "game" with travel ball, which is always a moving target depending on who's emerges as leadership.
