I thought the article was very good and fair. I understand the view


of those who want him fired. Personally, I think he has done a pretty good job building a new foundation.

(1) He had no experience in WBB when he was hired. From a tactical POV, that is not a big issue. Where it does matter is recruiting. He had zero connections wrt recruiting HS girls. That takes time to build relationships etc. I see the first 2 or 3 years as serving that very purpose - building those relationships. I don't count those against him. That started paying off last year with our current freshmen (2 top 100 + 1 mid 130 recruits). We have another top 100 coming next year. It would be nice to see who signs in April.

(2) And as Old Line Hokie pointed out in his post above regarding comparing last years and this years stats, there has clearly been improvement. I realize it may not be enough for some who want a rocket sled to the top, But it is clear to me that a good foundation is being laid. IMHO, blowing it up now would negate the improvement and set the program back several more years.

(3) By the way Magarity has been handled this year due to the calf problem, hopefully she will be 100% next year. She is an important cog and a difference maker.

IMHO, I would extend DW another 2 or 3 years. As it stands, we have SG & JJ still being paid. They should go away soon. I would give it another couple of years and then make a decision.

Having voiced my view which is not popular here, I expect to be fired upon. So have at it. JMHO.
