FWIW the transition from DI-FCS to DI-FBS is a 2 year process

for a reason. At least I don't believe you will find an example where a school made the transition in 1 year. Now that doesn't mean a school didn't receive a waiver in its second year of transition so it could compete in a bowl game. However, the school wasn't officially recognized as a full DI-FBS school until the start of the new fiscal year on July 1.
