I've told my wife when my inheritance comes through I might be tempted to

help her daughter with a down payment in the event she wants to buy a house, since buying a small starter home/townhome could give her a much better living space with a smaller mortgage payment than she could ever find looking for a place to rent. It depends on how much she might need. If she can get a small home for $150k and can get by with a $15,000 down payment, I'd do it, just so she can leave the damn nest already. She's 33 and living in my converted garage. She gots to go already.
