Oh, I think it's more complex than that and the ACC could


easily vanish in the end...or not. A major reshuffle at the top could have SEC and B1G expanding or forming alliances that function contractually as conferences and even recently completed TV deals would be re-done. We could also see some current P5's drop out. And it will force ND's hand.

If you look at my old posts (yes they are boring), you'll see that Transformation was planning a release of tentative possibilities in mid-April. So this wasn't a surprise. And I'd have to look back to find it (October?) but the charge to the group was to potentially rethink D1...and that was before Sankey was made co-chair. Sankey still wants his CFP/SEC deal and this realignment if it happens, isn't going to get him there. We would be closer to your model of the conference finals being playoffs; no need to offer anything to the old G5; and possibly even saving the bowls.

IMO, B1G is in the driver's seat right now, not SEC/Sankey
