Years ago...they did not sell alcohol on Sundays in my state


However, I could roll on over to the Class 6 and pick up something if I ever needed anything. Always love that benefit.

Yes, the garage access on post was a huge, huge thing for me. I didn't grow up working on cars but got used to doing my own stuff (especially as a poor enlisted guy) there on post.

When I was stationed at JBER, we had access (via MWR) to the fishing camp down in Seward, Alaska. We could get free place to stay, free halibut charter, and they would supply us with all of the materials to clean, filet, and package our catch to take back to our places. They even supplied us a cooler and dry ice.

So many folks do not take advantage of those things....
