Russian ships air defense is not that capable

from what I gathered (anecdotal online sources) the ship's targeting radar was tracking some Ukrainian UAV's that were presenting a threatening posture. These ship air defense systems are all linked into its main targeting radar, and that radar does not have 360* coverage / or some other limitation in the # of targets it can track.

So while the UAV's were being targeted, the ASM's came in from the other direction undetected
