Haven't read the full details yet but I believe it takes effect Jan 2025


The health plan itself will be structured similar to the current Federal Employees Health Benefit Program but will be exclusive to USPS employees and/or retirees. Program will be managed by OPM. Premiums and such will be based on USPS only and not Federal as a whole. I assume there will be fewer insurance options but I don't know that for a fact.

Also in Jan 2025, all newly Medicare-eligible USPS annuitants and their Medicare-eligible covered family members will need to enroll in Medicare Part B to maintain their postal health coverage.

Currently, the latter is not a requirement.
