I'd say it's worse the way the media is reporting on the "massive rise"

In cases when reporting it.
The evening news tonight did a story about it and said it's due to the "wave" of the new variant... Giving stats about what percentage the new variant accounts for. And, as I said originally, "cases are up 50% over last week and 70% since March _!"
No mention of hospital rates being so low and still declining. Or that, even the Philly health director said they think this wave will be less severe.
Instead they show interviews of residents saying how worried they are. As you would expect, the vast majority won't dig into the details... They'll just watch that news story, see a scary graph showing a 70% increase and be scared to death.
