I used to crow hop when I pitched but it was small. My pitching coach

helped me to correct it: (1) When you push off to begin the pitch, don't twist or rotate your foot. Your foot has to stay still on that white rubber mound. If your foot moves prior to the pitch, then your foot will come off the ground. (2) Put a loose piece of rope or black rubber couple inches in front of the pitching rubber. You have to drag the rope or black rubber with your foot so you don't hop over it. This forces you to push off the rubber mound and drag your foot. It took me couple weeks to correct it after practicing over & over every day until it became natural and didn't think about it. It improved my pitching and better control of the strike zone.

It can be corrected, a lot of pitchers do it. I'm surprised our pitching coaches didn't address this, correct it before the season started.
