When I was in little league, I used my brother's first baseman's mitt...

...while playing in the outfield. That was about 1.5X the length of a standard outfielder's glove, and remember an opposing coach coming out to challenge my use of that in the field when I reached out to snag a fly ball. I was probably the smallest kid on my LL baseball team, and that was the only glove I had access to at the time. A "regular" size kid would have the same reach with a standard outfielder's glove.

Lets be real, this was the regular little league baseball being played in "small town" America. The umpire told the opposing coach to go sit down...lol
