ND football is the "anti-proximity" program


Closeness to the school isn't a big thing in scheduling.

The opposite is often true, in fact.

ND would much rather play a team further away than play schools like Illinois or Indiana, for instance.

ND is not a state school and doesn't feel the same need to support in-state schools as much as State U does.
