I do as well

My daughter has several medical issues and is disabled. We are actually trying to get her approved for Medicaid. Due to her medical issues she can only take a small course load each semester. Fortunately the university she is at has a special dorm for kids with disabilities and has a disability resource center that she is registered with. This allows her to get extra testing time and help if she needs to reschedule tests and assignments and so forth. They also have a personal care assistant program that comes and helps her get ready for class and get to class. This costs a lot of money but there are several organizations out there that can help our kids out. This comes back though to trying to get approved for medicaid can make a big difference but that is a process and takes time.

Hang in there. Maybe check to see if her school has a disability resource center that your daughter might be able to register with. I don't know what the rules are with Medicaid but you might want to see if your daughter's health issues may qualify her for approval. This might help you all save in some medical costs. I want you to know you are not alone. There are many parents out there like you and I that also have kids with health issues that are trying to navigate the college years. Whether they are physical or mental health issues they both can affect the timeline of the college years.
