Understand the hate.

Hate is a word used too frequently in our society today. There is no hate toward the selection committee, just a justifiable complaint as to how they arrived at their decisions. If no team was identified, and the selection based solely on merit, the Big 10 wouldn't have had 9 teams in the tournament; the ACC would have had more than 5, and the Hokies, being an automatic qualifier wouldn't have been an 11 seed. There is way too much influence coming from somewhere for the selection committee to have acted as they did. I agree that making money is a prime objective for the NCAA, but crowning a legitimate champion should be the ultimate goal. Just like the selection of the football bowls, way too much emphasis is assigned to a team's recognition for what they did in the past. Fairness succumbs to influence. Also, I recognize that I used "way too much" way too many times in this post.
