Our family has donated to multiple sports over the years and

specified which sports, but we often wonder if our donations are actually going to those sports, ie, softball, track, wrestling etc. Similar concern when I donated to United Way for over 10 years thru my employer and found out later my funds didn't go to those organizations. So I stopped it and donated directly to the desired organizations. How do we find out if our funds actually went directly to softball, track, and wrestling during fundraising?
