Reka showed a lot of courage

I know as a fact that Penn athletes were told to toe the line or face consequences. The thinly veiled threat was being kicked off the team and facing hate speech charges. I also know a lot of female D1 swimmers, and they are overwhelmingly upset about what happened.

I give Reka a lot of credit for thoughtfully speaking her mind. She made it clear to not personalize this against Lia Thomas, and from the women swimmers I have talked to, they all feel similarly. Being a fifth year senior and done with eligibility, she at least had less to lose.
