I keep thinking that if we had lost to Duke in the final...Aggies were in.


There was alot of parity between the two teams, where they both had a mid season slump, and both got hot, and both made a run in their tournaments.

We won our final and they did not.
The problem with all of this is the metrics don' t justify the selection.
They are a factor, but there are obviously other thing factored that are not reflected in any of the metrics or standings.
Decisions are being made based on other criteria that is not within the public domain.

Should there be a significant portion of the selection criteria that is kept private from public view? Or should the selection process be fully transparent.

I think that is the real question with all of this.
Are Schools, Teams, coaches, players, and fans okay with the fact that a significant portion of how teams are selected is kept from the public awareness.

I would prefer transparency, but that takes control away from the committee, and whatever priorities they are serving. After all, you don't need a committee if the entire selection process is 100% transparent. So what is the REAL purpose of this committee and who are they serving?
