My recommendation: buy one with a good trigger

I have two air rifles. One is a Ruger (Umarex) that was built in China, and although I can make it shoot well if braced and use my thumb and index finger to squeeze the trigger to the trigger guard.... In general, the trigger just blows chunks.

The other RWS Diana (also a Umarex) was built in Germany, and it has a great trigger. It's built to last a lifetime...the CHICOM rifle...not so much.

FYI: "high power" .177 rifles shoot around 1200fps, and .22 rifles shoot around 900fps. I think the different in pellet speed is due to the mass of the pellet.
