...to Cabella's to talk to them about the transfer process for the .308 Ruger precision rifle that I ordered from Palmetto State Armory last week. I got a shipping confirmation email this morning and wanted to talk to the firearms desk at Cabella's to get a better understanding about how the process works there, and couldn't get them on the phone, so I decided to go by on my lunch break.

This thread is super helpful, because like you, I've been trying to decide what kind of scope to get. I am less than clueless. I asked the guy at the counter at Cabella's and he showed me a Vortex Optics Diamondback 4-12 scope for ~$350.00. I used it to sight across the store and it did seem to be a decent scope. The salesman said it a 4-12 scope would be good for 200-300 yards, but said that if I spent another ~$150, I'd notice a big jump in glass quality scopes of that class. They also had the Vortex Optics Viper scope from Edge's link for $1099, which is more than I want to pay, but I'm going to think about it.

Let me know if you decide on one. Although, it sounds like I may actually get my rifle before you get yours, unfortunately for you.
