In my opinion, Russia absolutely will not touch a Baltic State. They know that's war with the USA if they try it. They will continue to influence the Balkans with it's oil and nautral gas and coal exports. Russian's desire in my opinion is the land bridge. They've talked about it for years in the Russian media. I don't think they want Kiev either. I know that's not a popular opinion, but there is a reason the Russian Conscripts are in the North near Kiev and the Russia regular Army is in the South. The stuff North of Kiev is a diversion. It's an attempt to isolate/concentrate Ukraine's forces around Kiev when they can do their real damage in the South/Southeast to create the landbridge to the Black Sea.
