I watched it, too. I liked it, but...


I did not like how the ending implied that Chamberlain gave the British a chance to rearm with his appeasement policy. That's a very naïve way of looking at it, IMO. In fact, the British really didn't need to rearm to stop the Germans in the 1936-38 years. The only thing that needed to happen is for the French army to cross the border. It was the biggest army in the world. At that point, Germany only had about 36 divisions in the field in 1938. But by the invasion of Poland, that number had increased to around 90.

They could have been crushed by weight of numbers from 1936-38, whether the British contributed a sizable field army or not. But by the summer of 1939, it was too late.
