This is the why there are conspiracy theories on the selection process

The criteria have different weights each year depending on the committee.

When we went thru the long drought with Greenberg, the interview with the selection commissioner had him identifying a different reason each year as to why this or that team didn't get in...

They really should publish the system, but they won't until they get sued...
